The Saga of the Well Dressed Husband

Yesterday, the new venetians for Marcellus were finished, as well as his new green doublet. You have no idea how pleased I am with this, particularly since he looks great in them.

I must confess I was a little anxious, since all I had ever done for him were trunkhose, and the last venetians he wore (which were the also his first by the way) were made many moons ago and although well constructed, were not as flattering on him as the trunkhose.

(If you need to know, those are the same green venetians that troyfish has been wearing for the past couple of years. And although I altered them for the Fish, those venetians were actually made by Marcellus :-)

Well, my hunny-bunny has changed shapes since that last pair of venetians, and the new black ones look great on him. Possibly even better than the trunkhose. (Gotta love Janet Arnold!)

Marcellus will be wearing his new ensemble at Challenge of the Heart and fighting in it. If he finds it comfortable, his next pair of breeches will also be venetians.

In the meantime, I will begin construction of his new blue doublet. Unlike the green, which is made for summer fighting, the blue will feature sleeves. The pieces were cut as the same time as the green, so it is just awaiting assembly.

Yes, my theory is that if you are going to cut one garment, you might as well cut two of the same. And if you own a rotary cutter, this is even faster.

Rotary cutters.

Whoever invented those little gadgets should be awarded the Nobel prize.

Wait a minute! Are you running with scissors again?

(I think it's my turn to run away . . .)
