We have found out that Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) actually has an excellent program for film studies, which is what he wants to do. It is an in-State college to boot, which makes a huge difference when it comes to tuition, room and board.
VCU is also having an open house on November 4, and we have decided to attend. That also means that we will be arriving late to Crown Tourney, but there is no helping it. The next open house is in February, and by then Carlos should have his application already in.
I am very excited for him. Of course, he will need to get his butt in gear preparing his portfolio, talking to counselors, passing all his grades, and generally getting ready and hoping for admission.
Plan B, of course, would be for him to do a year of Community College, which is not a bad plan. But even then, he needs to have a clear picture of which subjects he needs to take in order to ensure a smooth transfer.
We shall see.
Dancing With the Stars was a lot of fun this week. Non surprisingly, Jerry Springer is out. Although he cannot dance to save his life, he nevertheless won a lot of hearts with his performances and his humble attitude.
I know that he won mine.
Left are Mario and Karina, Emmitt and Cheryl, Joey and Edyta, and Monique and Louis.
I am putting my money on Mario and Emmitt at the finals, but you never know what will happen. Take Willa Ford, for example: She and her partner were absolutely amazing and they still got booted out, whereas Sara Evans stayed put.
Me? I will be glued to the TV every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for the next four weeks.
You can leave word with Scandal the Cat if you need to talk to me during shows.
I can assure you that he will know what to do.
