Anywhoo, to make a long story short, we made landgrab weekend, as usual, and we had a great time.
Yes, we worked like maniacs, but we had fun nonetheless, not to mention a great workout.
(Heck, to think that there are people who will pay to get a workout like this on a weekend!)
Between ballistabob, myself, pirategirleee, Thing One (Seamus), and geoffreyapclywd, we all made a lot of progress:
Common area tent = check
Tables and benches = check
Shower stall and shower pit = check
Sink and sump = check
Water filtration system = check
Hot water heater for said sink and sump = check
Sheet wall = check
Gate = check
ballistabob and mine's pavillion = check
Thing One's pavillion = check
The Bachelor Pad Pavillion (Hadrurus and Carlos) = check
pirategirleee's Pirate tent = check
geoffreyapclywd and greta_k's pavillion = check
Sadly, we did not install the kitchen tent since we tossed the old one away last year and none of us remembered that.
Why did we toss it, you may ask? Because the poor thing was falling apart and had been living on borrowed time for the past two years. Our reasoning was that if we tossed it, we would be forced to buy another one. A larger one, hopefully.
Problem with this, we did not remember until we asked "So where the heck is the kitchen tent?" "Ohhhh, shit! We don't have one anymore!"
Luckily, we were able to find a good one at Sears, a 12x20 mega-screen-tent on clearance, but not before doing a Scooby Doo ("Let's split up gang!") and running ourselves ragged visiting every single Wal-Mart, Sports Authority, K-Mart, Sears, and just about every place that remotely looked like they carried camping equipment.
Not bad for a team of five people.
Fortunately, we will have more people on Saturday to help set it up when we bring it over to camp.
At any rate, here are some pictures of our Land Grab weekend, and some of Stierbach Baronial.
And that's it, I'm going to bed.
