DWTS - 80's Night!

Well, boys and girls, last night it was 80's night at Planet DWTS. This means that there was an explosion of color, leg warmers, hair scrunchies and assorted shoulder pads. And at the end of the show, I found that predicting who is going home tonight just got a bit trickier

Let's see...

  • J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: Samba. We learned that JR's real name is José Rene. We also learned that he can shake his booty like nobody's business. In fact, I think that his has become my favorite samba booty since Giles Marini. Go JR and Karina!

  • David Arquette and Kym Johnson: Tango. Last week I was asked who did I think was the most improved dancer. This time, I'd dare say that it's definitely David. And his impression of Len it's the most hilarious ever. Unless he ends up subject to a surprise elimination, he's in the running for my top 5, if not my top 3. (PS. What ever happened to Pee Wee Herman? He has been in the audience for the past three weeks, and was nowhere to be found! I want my Pee Wee Herman back!)

  • Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke: Rumba. The other nomination for most improved award would probably go to Rob. He was really cute. (Ohhh, noooo!!!! I have been infected by the letter K!!!). At any rate, he's a candidate to top 5. That is, unless he's not.

  • Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: Hey! Looky there! It's John Waters doing a cameo during RL and DH's rehersal! (Did I mention that I love John Waters?) At any rate, they (Ricky and Derek, not John Waters) did the foxtrot to "Easy Lover." I don't know who came up with that music, but it didn't work very well for a foxtrot. On the other hand, Ricky's "running rabbit" was hilarious. They're still my bet for top 2.

  • Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Oy vey, guys. You just went back on my book as my "surprise elimination" pick. On the bright side, Hope provided us with the best line of the night: ""You don't have to think about acting in soccer, when balls are being driven at your face." On the other hand, she still can't emote. Oh, Hope and Maks, we will miss you when you're gone...

  • Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus: Rumba. Tristan is becoming one of my favorite pros. I love him when he says "That's me job." I hope they bring him back next season. I love me some Tristan Mac Manus. Hairy chest and everything (but I'd love his chest even better if he waxed. Just sayin'.) Anywhoo, the dance was not bad, but I am worried about them. I am not sure that they will survive this week.

  • Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer: Samba. Chaz and Lacey received a visit from Lacey's dad, who not only is a trip, but he's a big guy who *can* dance. (Boy can he dance!) He showed Chaz how big guys do it, and it was great fun. This is not to say that Chaz became a great dancer overnight, but I was surprised at how light on his feet he could be when he was not in pain. He and Lacey were having a lot of fun, and I am not sure that this is their time to go yet. We'll see.

  • Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya: Jive. Ohh, Carson! You and Anna were having so much fun! I am afraid, though, that you have reached the end of the rope. It was a wonderful hot mess, but so out of sinc and outrageously bad that I'm not sure that you will survive this week. And the dance floor will not be the same without you if you go. *Sniff.*

At any rate, I leave you with a pic of Carson and Anna's fabulous trainwreck.

So boys and girls? What do you think? Have Anna and Carson danced their swan song? (Hmmm... I'd love to see Carson in a swan dress a-la-Björk). Will Hope and Max be "surprise" eliminated? Will little Rob Kardashian be back to dance another day? Or will Patrick and Nancy Grace bite the bullet tonight? Who knows? In the meantime, you can kill some productivity by voting in the weekly death pool, which has been posted after the pic.
