DWTS: It was the best of nights, it was the worst of nights...

It was team dancing night. The first team, all covered in pleather, was comprised by Chelsea and Mark; Ralph and Karina; and Romeo and Chelsie. The second team, all dressed in pink fringe, featured Hines and Kym; Kendra and Louis; and Kirstie and Maks.

Oh, and did I mention that there was an guest judge: Donnie Burns, a.k.a. the Tiger Woods of the ballroom. It made for one hilariously crowded judges table. But I did like his input even if the judging was sort of all over the place.

Well darlings, I would have liked to say that the dancing on both teams was awesome but alas, everyone was off last night. However, pleather and pink fringe make for some entertertaining tv on its own right so all is good. It was a tie between both teams.

And now, for the individual dances:

Ralph and Karina: They definitely bounced back from last week's dancing. Karina looked like a deranged, sexy leprechaun from the roaring 20's, as the theme was a quickstep in a prohibition era speakeasy. I did enjoy it, and I think that it gave the Karate Kid a new lease in dancing. At least for another week. If he keeps doing this, he may just yet pull a Donny Osmond and we'll see him in the finals. All bets are off now.

Hynes and Kym: They danced a tango but, like I said before, he was a bit off. He is still the Hynesman, so they still looked good and ended on the top of the leaderboard along with Ralph and Karina. But I do hope that they come back next week with a better routine. (And I looooove to see his team mates waving the Horrible Towel in the audience!)

Chelsea and Mark: As usual, standard Mark's fare. Cute, but not much of a paso. Mark is so frantic that he looks almost epilectic, which is kind of hilarious taking into account that he does it while wearing liberal amount of makeup. I sort of like Chelsea, but she's incapable of looking angry for a paso. The best she can do is look surprised. "You're an actress!" yells Shirley Ballas, Marks' Mom, who is coaching them. "Play the part!" Oh, well. So much for that. But most disturbing was to see Shirley practicing with Mark. Oy vey. Still, it was an entertaining dance, but Len and Donny agreed with me in that there was not much of a paso there.

Kendra and Louis: Kendra finally managed to get out of her shell (other than the times in which she can shake her booty), and actually did a very decent tango. The footwork was really complicated, and she nailed it. Now, if she had just managed to look less terrified and hanging on to Louie for dear life, she might have gotten better scores. I wonder if the Eliza Doolitle Effect (TM) will strike again, saving her for another week, of if she'll go home tonight. Oh, the suspense!

Kirstie Alley and Maks: Oh, Kirstie! I crided for you! If it weren't for Maks and for the actual good vibe that you both give together, I think that you would have been sent packing a couple of weeks ago. Kirstie has a lot of talent and charisma, and the judges love her. Otherwise, you would not be able to explain a 9 for a dance that even she admits was not her best. "I forgot to move my feet!" Kirstie says. She was dressed in a gigantic purple tutu with black tights, which has gotten some rave reviews or some WTF's, depending on how you look at it. Me, I am afraid that she has sort of given up. If so, she won't last long, unless her fan base saves her to dance another week.

Romeo and Chelsie: What a pity. Romeo had been growing on me, but this week he really, really sucked. He and Chelsie did a samba. And therein lies the problem. Romeo decided that he'd interpret the dance his own way, and did away with all the booty shaking. While Chelsie looked great, he really didn't do much of anything. And given the earthquake devil of a samba that Kendra did last week, comparisons cropped to mind. At least in my mind. But whether or not that comparison crossed the judges mind, they panned him for his lack of samba-ness all the same and sent him to the bottom of the leaderboard. Given that Kirstie and Kendra do have big fan bases, he may be in real danger of being sent packing home.

But this is Dancing with the Stars, where stranger things have happened.

So, who do you think will be going home tonight? I am not so sure this time...

And now, I shall leave you with the Death Pool of the week, and a nifty picture of Kirstie in a purple tutu and "Sex on a Stick" Maks, courtesy of the nice folks of ABC.

No need to thank me
