DWTS Recap and Weekly Death Pool

Last night was Classical Music Night. Or mostly, music, mostly classical, played by a big hunking orchestra complete with violinist David Garrett and mezzo-soprano soloist Katherine Jenkins. Believe me, it made for some interesting dancing.

Chelsea and Mark danced to the theme of Harry Potter. It was cute and interesting and it got the highest marks of the night. I disagree that it was the best dance of the night, since it was some sort of interpretive dance as opposed to the Viennese Waltz. But hey, what are we going to do? I bet that they got a gazillion people voting for them, which is what they were aiming for.

Ralph and Karina did another Viennese Waltz, to the theme of Romeo and Juliet. This time, Ralph had his freaky hands under control (because they look freaky, not because he is doing anything freaky with it), and he and Karina looked really lovely.

Hines Ward and Kym really, really did very well. I am betting that he will be making it to the finals. He's really got the goods, not to mention a spectacular butt. Oh, and they did a spectacular paso. And I love the guys waving the Terrible Towel at him on the sidelines. You go Hines!

NOTE: Activia commercials. Am I the only one who thinks that Jamie Lee Curtis should not go down in history as Activia Lady? For crying out loud, she was sexy Wanda from A Fish called Wanda, and Arnie's sexy wife in True Lies!!! Why, Jamie Lee. Why???? Please color your hair back to brown, rock a mini skirt, and forget about the Activia silliness. I want my sexy Jamie Lee back!!!

Okay, now back to our abridged recap.

Chris Jericho and Cheryl: Ohhhh, I still want me some Chris Jericho. And I think that he and Cheryl were robbed last night. No way that their Paso was scored that low. What were the judges thinking? They did a really cool and kickass dance with a very challenging music. You try to do a Paso to Hall of the Mountain King! Much more challenging than, say, a Viennese Waltz to the theme of Harry Potter. Oh, well. Que sera.

Petra and Dmitry: They are so cute. They did a Paso, which was adorable and hilarious since Petra's "scowling" expression is still a very sweet one. But the judges loved them, and I bet that a lot of people want to see them back. She is probably the nicest contentast.

Romeo and Chelsie: They did a very competent yet forgettable Paso. The judges raved about it, so I guess they're going to be okay. I don't hate him, but I am having a hard time relating to him. All in all, it was an okay performance. (My sweetie wants to see him gone, but I am afraid that this week that honor will go to someone else.)

Moving on...

Kirstie and Macks: Kirstie lost a shoe while doing the Viennese Waltz. Then got her shoe back. Macks managed to keep the straight face and continue the dance seamelessly. I like them so much... I hope that they will be okay despite the misshap. (Seriously, who loses a shoe?) I really want to see them back, and I believe other people will too.

Sugar Ray and Anna: She looked adorable as a sugar plum fairy. And yes, boys and girls, believe it or not, Sugar Ray did a Viennese Waltz to the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies Waltz of the Flowers. It was epic. He still can't dance, but he's having so much fun that the judges gave him higher scores than Kendra.

Which brings us to,

Kendra and Louis: Oh, Kendra. I crided for you! The good news is, her routine was complicated and she performed very well, save a couple of small glitches. Then again, others were having bigger glitches with less complicated programs. Did I mention that this was the Viennese Waltz? The bad news is, the judges were not amused by her "I am not a lady" kind of attitude, and by the fact that she decided that a Waltz could be Mafia themed. I believe that if they had been dancing to the Godfather Theme, this might have gone better. As it was, it was a classical piece sang by a famous mezzo-soprano. And she could not keep the right expression, which was a combination of nervous laughter and "Holy crap, when is this thing going to end?". The judges really let her have it, and gave her three 6's.

Me? I think that they scored her very low, especially considering that they scored other couples higher, and that those couples had much simpler programs that were not perfect either. But there you go. If she is not gone tonight, I will be really surprised.

So who do you think is going home tonight? Click away and we will see who got it right.
