Last night I went to practice, and kept on with my little program. I was not as successful as I would have hoped this time around. I have also come to the conclusion that the only explanation on why I tend to do better at events than at practice may be that I am usually very tired on Thursday evenings. What with getting up at 4:45 a.m. every day to to to the gym, and then adding a full day of work.
At any rate, I did realize last night that I am missing some opportunities and openings since I am so obsessed with keeping my form at this point. However, when things gel, the system works. And it works very well if I say so myself. And of course, when it fails, it does so catastrophically, but I call it part of the process of "paying the piper."
And what "paying the piper" might be, you ask?
Paying the piper is that period of time in which you are experimenting and you get hit a lot as a result. It's part of the process, and you won't learn anything new unless you are willing to pay the price.
But the results, when they finally come, are worth it.
Nothing is for free.
Why would any martial art be any different?
At any rate, that's it for today. I will be coming back with a posting on the new Wonder Woman outfit, of which I have plenty to say about.
In the meantime, be good (at whatever it is that you would like to be good).
