Randomosity on a Monday Night.

Weekend was fabulous. Much planting was done, no plants died (which is an accomplishment in and of itself, as I am the worst gardener in the world), and we got to see Iron Man 2 with the Dark Child. The latter was his idea, and he treated us to the movie. His boss had given him a gift certificate for the movie theater, and he decided to use it to take his Mom and stepdad out. How cool is that?

After the theater, we went out for dinner (our treat) and much fun was had by all.

And speaking of Iron Man 2, I highly recommend it. If anything, I may have liked it even better than the first one, as the character development is much more complete. Some folks have complained that there is not enough action. I say, give me a good story and engaging characters, and you can spare the special effects. (Not that the special effects are not stunning, but I could care less if they weren't).

Besides, I have a huge crush on Robert Downey Jr., so there.

Oh, and Mickey Rourke rocks. Just sayin',

Tonight, we missed Alle Psallite practice on account of El Brato showing up for an impromptu visit. The best part? By the time I made it home, he had already started dinner. He has a key to the house, so letting himself in was not an issue. And he had called ahead and asked for permission to fix dinner, imagine that!. Plus the boy makes the best quesadillas. It is so nice to come home to a nice dinner!

I am astounded by my sons. Really, I am.

On the other hand, work continues to eat my life.

No, I am not complaining. I am thoroughly enjoying what I am doing these days, and I am fortunate enough to work with a really awesome team. For the first time in ages, I am really loving what I do. But I will be happy when things resume a less frantic pace, most likely around July.

Fitness continues improving. I surprised myself when I started to do leg extensions at 90 lbs. And I was even more surprised when I checked my November fitness journal and realized that 90 lbs used to be my one rep max. And what is a one rep max, you may ask? A one rep max is the maximum weight where you can only do one repetition. This means that back in November, I could only do one repetition on the leg extension machine at 90 lbs. Now I can start my drop sets with 8 reps. The next ones are 85 lbs for 10 reps, and 80 for 12. I definitely need to check what would my one rep max is these days.

Sounds like the kiddos are growing up. Yay! Just when you think it's a lost cause. :-)

Tell me about it. After all the ongoing drama of the angst adolescent years, they seem to be getting on with the program. I am still getting used to it!
