Mona Ogg

My sweetie is in Florida this week for work, and I miss him sorely. Luckily, he's scheduled to be back Friday afternoon. I can't wait.

So last night I am driving back from work when my cell phone rings. It is el Brato.

"Mom," he says. "Are you on your way home?"

"Yes, sweetie," I say. "I should be there in about 20 minutes."

"Uh, okay. Would you like me to fix you a sandwich?"

"Hmmm, actually, can you slice the grilled chicken that's in the fridge so I can make some tacos?"

"Sure thing!"

I get home and, sure enough, my kid had sliced the chicken and everything was ready for me to fix dinner. He had already eaten, so it was only for me.

"Wow," I tell him. "Thank you very much for doing this for me. I really appreciate it."

"No prob," he says. "I figured that you would come home tired from work, an Bob is not here. So why not?"

I am really tickled by that. He's so sweet, and he's matured so much.

I love my kids. I really do.
