I vote, therefore I am.
Yes, boys and girls, taking into consideration that:
My flight to Florence departs at 5 p.m. on November 4th;
I should be at the airport at 3 p.m. at the latest (earlier if possible);
Everybody and their cousin are coming out of the woodwork to vote in that day; and
The likelyhood of long lines at the polls may or may not make me late for my flight,
I decided to bite the bullet and join the throngs of people who are voting early.
Yipeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

rheabecc had previously pointed out, the Commonwealth of Virginia allows you to do your absentee voting in person. Therefore, I showed up this morning at the appropriate place, ID in hand, and ready to rock and roll.
I must say, the line was a bit long, but not terribly. However, the poll workers have this operation running smoother than a baby's bum, and the whole thing didn't take me more than 30 minutes.
I feel so relieved!
And now, back to the drawing board. A sandwich is calling my name and then it's back to work.
