On the other hand, the dress is coming along very nicely. I haven't had the time to post pics, but the padded sleeves look gorgeous. Just like the painting. Yeah. And thanks to my sweetie-pie, I have oodles and oodles of hand-wrapped buttons to boot.
I have also been practicing my song, a nifty Sephardic piece, and I just need to put the documentation together. Research has been done, but documenting any Sephardic piece is a challenge in and of itself. The reason for this is that, unlike the case of the Cantares de Amigo, which I performed back in September at Chalice, there are no documental records for them. This due to the fact that all these songs were passed on through oral tradition. Having said that, one can always make comparisons between the Sephardic language, which is a very ancient form of Spanish, and Medieval Spanish texts. That always helps.
Alle Psallite practice was a lot of fun last night. I have been dragging ballistabob to practice, as we really need the male voices. He seems to be having a lot of fun, and we are having a great time introducing our newly acquired male voices (Iustinos being the second) to the joys of the company of a formerly all-female ensemble. Hooray for guys!
