I feel like such a slacker.
For the first time ever, I am getting ready to go to KASF and I am *not* driving myself bananas with some crazy project.
Yes, boys and girls, I decided to follow the counsel of that famous sage, Miracle Max: "Do not hurry miracles, sonny. If you hurry a miracle, you get a rotten miracle."
Therefore, I have shelved the burgundy dress once more on account of not gunning for a rotten miracle. At this point, either the project gets finished and looks right, or it gets scraped and the fabric recycled into some other suitable (non-period) project.
And that's that.
On the other hand, I have two new songs to debut at KASF, which I have been practicing nonstop. I have to say, I love this concept of having an "open mike" afternoon for performers, instead of a competition.
Don't get me wrong. I love competitions. However, when it comes to performances, I believe performers need an audience more than we need a judge. Given my chance of performing in front of Simon, Paula and Randy, or performing in front of full house, I will take the full house any day. The audience will either love my act or throw vegetables at me, but it will be a much more entertaining experience.
And that's that too.
It seems that sixteen other groups and single performers share the same opinion as everybody and their cousin have signed up for this. Squeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
On the other hand, it is ballistabob who has been going to bed late working on his project, as he is displaying this year. And for that matter, so is geoffreyapclwyd. Let's hear it for the men of Fallen from Grace!
Last, but not least, I am not surprised that Chris was auf'd from Project Runway. It was obvious that the judges wanted to auf him last time, and that they wanted to keep Rami instead.
However, Roberto Cavalli hated Rami's stuff and raved over Chris' creation. How inconvenient! And of course, you can't boot the man that has been deemed a genius by the genius himself. Hence the "you are both staying but you will have to compete against each other for the right to make it to the top three."
And of course, Chris' was outsted and Rami stayed.
(Much to my annoyance. I really wanted Christ to stay and I don't like Rami.)
Oh, well. I think that Chris will do well anyway. He's already a costume designer for Cirque de Soleil, so it's not like he's going to suffer terribly about it. He is my favorite guy in the show. A very nice guy and incredibly talented.
We shall see who wins next week. If it is Rami, I will be very put out.
And now, I shall go get something to eat, and then finish my report so I can take the day off and head for KASF.
It will be a blast!
