All I can say is that if I was requested to describe Bogota in one word, that word would be Alive. Yes, Alive, with a capital A. Perhaps it is because you never feel as alive as when you are about to die, or perhaps it is because Colombia as a culture is lively, smart, and made of steel, which is what has allowed it to survive in these trying times.
I have to say, I have the utmost respect for these people.
At any rate, here are my favorite pics from my travel. The first one is from Downtown Bogota, and I loved it because the little business in the corner reads "Patagonia." Hey, wasn't Patagonia supposed to be at the very end of the South American continent? Well, what do you know? We found it in Bogota, but there were no penguins.
The second one is a Botero sculpture at the Museo Botero. I loved it because it seems as if the hand is giving you the finger. And of course, I had to pose with it. How could I resist?
The third one is a fountain outside a very new Mall close to the hotel we were staying. I am very pleased how it came out.
And of course, if you want to see all the pics, here is the link.
