Just for Fun

Not much of an entry today. But just for your viewing pleasure, some pics of the coif I am embroidering. I have just attached the spangles to see what it'll look like. It's nifty, if I say so myself.

Yay, I like that you are doing yours a bit different than mine, it's so period. Yours is turning out really nicely. I guess that means I need to finish mine so we can be twinsies.

Thank you! We definitely need to go out like the Bopsie Twins once we are done with the coifs. This is what I love about these patterns. The basic drawing is there, but the actual embroidery is left to the imagination and design of the embroiderer. I am really happy that Isobel got to redact them.

I'd love to see pics of yours! I am sure it is beautiful. You are so talented!

Oooh, pretty. I need to make me a coif. I need to make me just about everything! *sigh*

Almost done; going to be moving soon, then ... bwaha-ha-ha-ha ....

Good luck with the move!

Ooh, that's very spiff. I love the shading on the leaves.

Thanks. I went back and forth with various fillings until I set for that one :-D

Go Girl...
Lovely work. Look forward to seeing the finished article. How long has it taken you so far? And how much is there still to do?

Re: Go Girl...

Well, I started it around Christmas last year because I wanted a fun little project that I could take with me everywhere. It ended being the everywhere embroidery, and it has by now its own history.

At this point, the coif came with me to Mexico where I worked on it during the last Christmas I spent with my father. Later on, I spend time in the hospital with it in January when he got sick and then passed away. It kept my mind occupied while the funeral arrangements were made, and then when I returned.

I tell people that this project has been with me in road trips, weddings, funerals, first communions and bar-mitzvahs. Thank goodness I am not of breeding age, or it would probably be with me while I gave birth . . .

But seriously, I have not counted the time on this one. I just do it watching tv (besides funerals, weddings, executions, etc . . .) I still have three leaves to shade, and about half the berries to finish. Plus all the spangles. All in all, probably a couple months at the rate I'm going.

I will be posting pics when the embroidery is done, and then when the whole coif is put together.

Then I begin with the next one . . . :-D
