Period Eyewear

As I promised to the fabulous liadethornegge, here are the pictures that ballistabob and myself took at the Musee Cluny in Paris. It is part of a painting on an altarpiece that depicts two saints, one of which is wearing glasses. The painting is early 16th Century.

Does the Musee Cluny now allow photography? When I was there in 1997, the guards would as soon string you up by your heals as allow photography (and guards in French museums are almost as militant re: anti-photography as the Italians).

I think so. If I am not mistaken, that's where we got it.

It's possible that the Cluny changed their photographic policy in the interim. I hope so.
