Project Runway: Really?

Really? Gretchen? I would not be caught dead wearing that crap. Are Nina and Michael on crack? I thought that this was Project Runway, not Project JC Penney.

I will post more tomorrow, but this is just the most ridiculous finale I have ever seen.

My prediction? Mondo will go on to become an extremely successful designer, and Gretchen will fade away. Her clothes are worthy of someone's grandmother, not modern at all.

They should have listened to Jessica and Heidi.

And now, to bed.

Belfebe out.

No kidding! I can not believe Mondo did not win. I couldn't believe how they kept going on about how on trend Gretchen was.

Mondo...I salute you! Now go kick Gretchen's butt in the real world!

Oh yeah. Who remembers Leanne? But we all know who Daniel Vosovic, Santino Rice and Austin Scarlett are. And none of them actually won Project Runway.

She will blow the money pulling herself out of debt and finding a place to live. And have nothing for a collection.

Idiots.

Honestly I liked Andy's collection the best. Mondo is certainly a great designer, just not my personal style.

Cannot STAND Gretchen's stuff.

Simona and I both liked Andy's most as well. Mondo's stuff is neat, and Gretchen's is... blah.

I couldn't believe they chose Gretchen. Your comment on Project JC Penney is right on.

I expect Mondo will do really, really well in the future. I've never seen anyone put together such disparate prints and make them work harmoniously like that. He really does have a discerning eye.

sun_in_splendor said to me that what may have tipped the balance in Gretchen's favor was that she demonstrated to Nina and Michael that she heard their previous criticisms and acted on them, whereas Mondo blew off their suggestions for his polka-dot dress and didn't seem to "learn" from their critique.

It's baloney. She did well at the beginning of the season and went downhill from there. He got better the whole season long. ARGH!

Listening to the judges' discussion, I think it came down to Mondo's polka-dot dress.
On the previous review, both Nina and Michael said it was bordering on costume, and suggested that there be some change to refine it. From Mondo's own statements, it sounded like he was too in love with his own dress to change it. Nina seemed to feel that Mondo had blown off the judges' suggestions by not altering the dress.
Mondo was true to himself at the expense of his audience (in this case Nina and Michael).

Mondo will go on to conquer the world, and Gretchen will make Project Runway history, but not in the way she wanted.

What I find amusing is that Nina Garcia said that she would not wear the polka dot dress. How about the adult brown colored diapers with a hat? I'd love to see Señorita Garcia wearing *that* little number.

To answer your question re: Nina and Michael being on crack, that has been obvious for some time now.
